Sundarban is visited throughout the year by lakhs of tourists but during the monsoon the annual Sundarban Hilsa Festival or the Ilish Utsab 2025, is the foodies favorite time to visit. If you are fond of sea food and specially the Hilsa then you too enjoy the variety of dishes prepared authentic Bengali style.
Every Monsoon during month of July, August & September along with the arrival of the Ilish (Hilsa} in the rivers and the backwaters we conduct the annual Sundarban Hilsa Festival or the Ilish Utsab every weekend starting from Friday to Sunday and on Specific Holidays.
Sundarban Ilish Utsab is purely a Non vegetarian Bengali Sea food theme based tour and not recommended for vegetarian people(Still we keep some vegetarian dishes in case some people have reservations on a particular dates. Though we keep Sundarban Hilsa festival based on Hilsa we also serve some other seafood like prawns and crabs to spice up the menu.

Tribal Dance- Visitors can immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of the Sundarbans through traditional music and dance performances Called Jhumur Nacch(Dance). These lively shows enhance the festive ambiance, offering a captivating glimpse into the region’s vibrant local traditions.
Interaction with Village & Local- The villages of the Sundarbans offer a unique glimpse into the traditional way of life in this UNESCO-listed region. As you explore, you'll witness the harmony between nature and the resilient communities who call this mangrove delta home. Start with a visit to the local markets, where villagers sell fresh fish, honey, and handmade crafts. The honey collectors, brave the forests to gather wild honey, an integral part of the local economy. You can also meet the fishermen, or Mochuas, who rely on the intricate river network for their livelihood. Strolling through the paddy fields and vegetable gardens, you’ll see how locals practice sustainable farming despite the challenging tidal conditions. The Bono Bibi temples, dedicated to the guardian deity of the forest, offer insight into the spiritual beliefs that protect villagers from the dangers of the Sundarbans, including the Royal Bengal Tiger.
****Due to reasons beyond our control sometimes raw materials of Sundarban Monsoon Hilsa Festival/Ilish Utsab, for food are not available and menu in ditto cannot be provided. There might be changes in menu day wise but our level best efforts are to provide all dishes mentioned.
